Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program once again held IDCamp Connect. An initiative aimed at developing Indonesia’s digital talent.
Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison’S SVP Head of Region Central Java, Joko Tri Wibowo, explained that the program is in line with the company’s commitment to empower the younger generation in the field of digital technology, especially in the booming era of artificial intelligence (AI).
“We hope that after this event, participants ‘ insights will be more open about AI and other technologies. Indonesia needs digital talents, and Solo is one of the cities that has the potential to give birth to Indonesian Digitalists who are ready to compete in the global arena,” said Joko at Solo Technopark, Friday (18/10/2024).
Since its inception in 2019, IDCamp has made a significant contribution to the country, with more than 270,000 scholarship recipients experiencing tangible benefits from coding training.
This year, IDCamp is present in three major cities, namely Solo, Balikpapan, and Timika, with the target of improving the digital skills of more than 150,000 participants.
Dicoding Indonesia’s Chief Operating Officer, Kevin Kurniawan, added that the program has shown a positive impact on the careers of many participants.
“From the survey we conducted, 50% of intermediate class participants stated that this training helped their careers. We also provide free global certification for participants who complete to expert level, which will certainly increase their chances in the world of work,” said Kevin.
Dicoding Indonesia Program Manager, Ira Yuti, emphasized that the need for digital talent in Indonesia is still very large.
To date, more than 90,000 participants have been certified as developers by IDCamp, a testament to the success of this program in supporting Indonesia’s digital transformation.
“Data shows that 25% of people of productive age in Indonesia still lack digital skills. Therefore, Indosat Ooredoo is working with Dicoding to accelerate the development of digital talent through a comprehensive coding scholarship, ” he said.
With a strong commitment to continue to empower the community, IDCamp is expected to be able to produce a generation of competitive digital talents, supporting national economic growth in the digital era. Ando
