Please tell us a little about yourself, your role, and what a typical day looks like, Darrie?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Hi! I\u2019m just your typical 24-year-YOUNG woman trying to make sense of life, one support ticket at a time \u2014 alongside my two-year-old cat and unofficial QA assistant, Sky. He’s white, fluffy, and fully convinced this household runs on his schedule. (He\u2019s not wrong.) A typical day starts with coffee, some meowing, and lots of love. Then I power up the PS. Yeah, I\u2019m a gamer girl \u2014 not exactly a surprise in the tech world, right?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After some gaming, it\u2019s time to switch gears. I log in, check the queue, put on my invisible cape, and jump straight into helping people fix their websites, emails, DNS nightmares, and everything else you can think of. Somewhere in between tickets you might also catch me making a latte, talking to my cat like he\u2019s a team member, or having an existential crisis over mail settings. You know \u2014 normal stuff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How did you get started in this field? What led you to this company?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I studied software engineering and always wanted to move forward with it. But one day a friend of mine \u2014 who\u2019s now a colleague \u2014 told me about an open position here and said, \u201cYou\u2019ll like it.\u201d I was hesitant at first, because the hosting world felt like uncharted territory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But then came the training \u2014 and I\u2019m not kidding \u2014 that\u2019s when I realized that hosting is actually my thing. The combination of technical problem-solving, real-time action, and helping people just clicked. Now I\u2019m here, wielding my virtual magic wand and casting spells like chmod 755 <\/em>all over the place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Darrie, what is a valuable lesson you have learned in your career so far?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Give. Yourself. Credit.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the beginning, I was always focused on what I didn\u2019t know \u2014 what I couldn\u2019t do yet, what I hadn\u2019t mastered. That mindset made it hard to really absorb new knowledge. But when I finally paused and looked back, I realized: \u201cWait, I\u2019ve actually learned a ton.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So here\u2019s the lesson: Acknowledge how far you\u2019ve come, even if you\u2019re not where you want to be yet. Celebrate what you learned yesterday, and don\u2019t beat yourself up for what you don\u2019t know today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Is there anything fun or unexpected about you that your colleagues might not know?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Oh, absolutely. My cat Sky \u2014 short for Skyler \u2014 is basically my coworker. He loves to sit next to me while I work. He watches the screen like he understands SSH logs and purrs at the sound of my keyboard. If you ever get a ticket from me with a typo, there\u2019s a solid chance he walked across the keyboard and \u201chelped.\u201d (Just kidding).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So just know \u2014 where there\u2019s my name on a ticket, there\u2019s a QA assistant right beside me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And how does a day outside of work look like for you?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A day outside of work? Honestly, I don\u2019t separate the two that much. When you love what you do, there\u2019s no such thing as a \u201cwork day.\u201d But if I\u2019m not at the desk, you\u2019ll probably find me gaming, working on an art project, or attempting to cook something fancy and failing fabulously.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lately, I’ve been slicing boxes to the beat in Beat Saber on my VR2\u2014my favorite way to lose track of time and pretend I’m doing cardio. When I need a change of pace, I switch it up with Marvel Rivals or get emotionally wrecked (again) in God of War. Basically, I like to keep my heart rate up\u2014whether it’s from rhythm, rage, or rapid respawns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I also just started a 2000-piece puzzle that’s staring me down like it knows it’s not going to be whole for the next 4 to 6 business weeks. So far, I’ve managed to open the box and create a very colorful pile of existential dread. But here’s the exciting part\u2014it’s already inspired my next art project! It’s still in its chaotic, abstract stage (much like my puzzle progress), but I’ll share photos once it looks more like art and less like I dropped a box of dreams on the floor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As for cooking\u2014honestly, takeaway is my loyal companion most days. Blame the fast-paced lifestyle. But when I do find the time to cook, I’m on a meat journey. Having spent most of my life as a vegetarian, I’m now approaching meat with the curiosity of a kid who just unlocked a secret level. Every meal is an adventure\u2026 sometimes a tasty one, sometimes a “learning experience.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So that’s me\u2014in a swirl of VR chaos, jigsaw ambition, and culinary experiments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Is there a personal goal or achievement you are most proud of or looking forward to?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Since 9th grade, I wanted to be a system administrator \u2014 even though I barely understood what that really meant. Coming from a family full of lawyers, nobody around me was tech-savvy. But then one day my nephew visited with my aunt, and I saw him working in a terminal window. It looked like a completely different universe \u2014 one I instantly wanted to be a part of. That moment was all it took to spark my curiosity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And maybe, just maybe, one day after I\u2019ve gained the necessary skills and experience, I\u2019ll finally reach that goal. Until then, I\u2019m learning, growing, and enjoying every step of the journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What advice would you give to someone interested in your career path, Darrie?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Ask questions. Always.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Having a question doesn\u2019t mean you don\u2019t know something \u2014 it means you’re thinking, analyzing, and trying to know more. That\u2019s how growth happens. Tech support (and tech in general) is about curiosity. So don\u2019t be afraid to speak up, even if you think it\u2019s \u201ctoo basic.\u201d Chances are, someone else has the same question but hasn\u2019t said it out loud.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
